For the third consecutive year, the Forrester Creative Renaissance Fund 501(C)(3) has been opening doors to a world of storytelling, imagination, and Caribbean creativity for students from SAASS and TAMCC. Two of our TAMCC students are proud alumni of our very first SAASS sponsorship, showing just how far this program can reach. The festival continues to ignite curiosity and inspire bold ideas, with students already excitedly looking forward to the next event in 2025.

Selected students were celebrated for their scholarly achievements combined with a passion for artistic curiosity. At the festival, they experienced KINfolk, a lively celebration of national and regional storytelling that showcased the power of homegrown film, folklore, and cultural expression. The event gave students the thrill of watching Caribbean-based films, connecting with industry professionals, and discovering a world of artistic possibilities fueling inspiration for future careers in the creative sector.

This sponsorship included tickets to the all-inclusive event and safe transportation to and from the venue, thanks to Real Grenadian Taxi. Heartfelt thanks go to generous sponsors Lenique V., Brandon B., and Amira B., whose support has made this unforgettable experience possible for three consecutive years.

“I think it's important for Grenadian and Caribbean stories to be told because many people don't know about their native background and heritage.”

— Carlyn

“Hearing their stories, seeing their work, and realizing how much talent we have right here made the whole festival feel inspiring and powerful.”

— Kidon

For the second year, the Forrester Creative Renaissance Fund 501(C)(3) proudly sponsored students from St. Andrew's Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) to attend the 12°N, 61°W Grenada Film Festival. This sponsorship covered tickets to the all-inclusive event, as well as car service for safe transportation to and from the venue. Two additional tickets were also provided for students from T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) in St. George's.

This year’s festival, held at Bayhouse Grenada, embraced the theme Mystique, encouraging participants to wear masks and avant-garde, Grenadian-inspired fashion. The students selected to attend were chosen for their academic achievements, passion for the creative arts, and personal growth. At the gala, the students had the opportunity to watch Caribbean-based films, walk the red carpet, network with industry professionals, and gain exposure to this unique art form, potentially inspiring their future careers. We are thrilled to support the festival and empower young voices by offering them a platform to explore the entertainment industry.

A special thanks to our generous sponsors—Juliet F., Carlita D., Teresa D., Mohamed S., Joanne F., Lenique V., Cicely M., and Alando S.—for making this experience possible. Additionally, our gratitude goes to Real Grenadian Taxi for providing safe and reliable transportation for the students!

Grenada’s
Path to Recovery
After Hurricane Beryl

Samaritan Purse.jpg

On July 1, 2024, Hurricane Beryl made its first landfall as a Category 4 storm on Carriacou, one of the three islands that make up the state of Grenada. The storm caused extensive damage to nearly all structures on the island and affected its entire population, with many residents having to evacuate to the mainland of Grenada. In the wake of this devastation, Grenada has received global support, with individuals coming to repair damaged structures and donate food, medical supplies, and other essential items to aid in the recovery process. The Forrester Creative Renaissance Fund 501(C)(3) has mobilized to organize fundraising efforts to support those affected by the storm. Through our initiatives, we were able to donate $300 USD to the Government of Grenada, which is dedicated to providing necessary resources and aid to those impacted in Grenada, Carriacou, and Petit Martinique. If you are interested in contributing further, please visit Pay.gov.gd and select the Hurricane Relief Donation option.

We are delighted to announce that The Forrester Creative Renaissance Fund 501(c)(3) proudly sponsored six students from SAASS school in Grenada to attend the prestigious 12°N, 61°W Grenada Film Festival Opening Night and Awards Gala. This sponsorship opportunity, initiated by Mickalia Forrester-Ewen, Miss Grenada USA 2023, aimed to empower and inspire the youth by providing them with an immersive experience in the world of cinema. Selected based on their dedication, academic standing, and passion for the creative industry, these students had the chance to attend the Red Carpet, Reception, Award Ceremony, and Film Screening, as well as exclusive VIP events.

Additionally, they received complimentary passes for nightly film screenings and had the opportunity to network with industry professionals and sponsors. The sponsorship included car service for transportation to and from the event, ensuring their safety throughout. We believe this experience not only fostered creativity and cultural appreciation but also potentially ignited future careers in the film industry for these talented students.
